Hi! I’M so glad you’re here

My name is Annie! I'm a multi-hyphenate creative that is deeply passionate about documenting and romanticizing this wild life.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember starting with one of my favourite humans, my Nan. My Nan is one of the most well travelled people I know and she has spend a lot of her life seeing the world and capturing it through her various lenses! She had developed alot of her own film when she was younger and her passion for photography ensured that our family was (and is) well documented. On my 18th birthday, my Nan gave me a photo album with hundreds of photos in it showcasing my upbringing from the moment I was born, until I left the house. This was the first time I realized how precious photography can be for the subject -- to be seen is to be loved.

I too ended up falling in love with travelling and after shooting Europe on a digital point and shoot, I bought my first big boy camera before a trip to India and fell in love with 35mm focal lengths and portraits. Since 2019, I've been sharpening my eye and building a style of portraiture that exists as a means of observation so I can allow my subjects to see themselves in their everyday beauty! I shoot through a feminine, soft, queer and inclusive lens making for dreamy and carefully crafted images that allow the viewer to step into my perspective for a moment!

A photographer in a black dress poses with their camera outdoors among tall grasses at golden hour.
Artistic portrait with dramatic lighting and coral lipstick.
Soft natural light streams through windows into a cozy bedroom with flowing curtains.
Portrait against urban backdrop at golden hour.
A pastoral scene with a person in a white dress and boots standing beside a grazing calf.

I want to show you how I see you!

What's a feminine gaze?

Male gaze, feminine gaze, inclusive gaze, queer lens..? What does all this language mean?

To me, the male gaze has traditionally existed in a way that objectifies a subject. Often this can look like over-posing, over-sexualizing and reducing a subject down to being a prop in a photo as opposed to the message of a photo. Shooting with a feminine gaze allows me to be less of the puppet-master of a photoshoot and more of a collaborator, more of a witness to my subjects.

But aren't poses important? Absolutely! I still love posing my clients and helping them find what feels best for their bodies but shooting with the idea of inclusivity at the forefront lets each pose breathe into more natural spaces and allows for my clients to truly see themselves in each image.

It's so important to me that photos feel like a slice of time that we're capturing through intention instead of random subjects role playing.

What's Your process?

I am excited about a variety of photography from events big and small, weddings, branding, portraiture, fashion, lifestyle, maternity; but my approach always remains the same: getting to know you and your vision and diving deeply into the heart of 'it'.

Once I receive an inquiry for a new project, a questionnaire goes out that helps me build the world around what you're looking for. We then share mood boards and depending on the scope of work, we'll hop on a call and work out any dream details and put a shooting schedule together.

I require a 50% retainer upon booking and once contracts are signed and invoices are received, our date get's locked in and I begin marinating in our mood boards.

Shoot day will come and we'll take some time making sure you feel nice and cozy in front of the camera, I'll practice posing with you if you like and our shoot will feel like one big collaborative conversation! It's important to me that you see yourself in the images we create together!

A week or so after our blissful shoot, you'll receive a gallery of watermarked proofs to choose your final shots from. I like sharing all of the good shots from our day so you can see the throughline of the shoot.

After recieving your list of faves, I'll get to editing and you can expect your gallery delivery in 3-6 weeks depending on what season we're in and the scope of project!

FAQ

Can you rush my final gallery?

Sure can! Depending on my workload at that time, rush orders can be requested for a fee.

The week buffer between our shoot and when you receive your proofs gallery allows me to return to our images with fresh eyes and ensures that I send over our very best shots!

Where should we shoot?

I am primarily based in Montréal but always looking for a good excuse to travel. I love natural light and enjoy scouting unique outdoor locations. I also have wonderful studio recommendations if you'd like to take our shoot indoors!

Can I have extra images?

Of course! Additional edits can be purchased though I don't usually charge for an extra few.

What if I don't like my photos?

Not to toot my own horn, but I have yet to encounter this in the past several years of shooting. If by chance you don't love what we create together, we can reschedule our shoot and take another crack at it! Depending on specifics, a new photography package or additional fees may need to be purchased.

I hate getting my photo taken!

I feel you on this one -- being photographed can feel really intimidating and uncomfortable. Luckily, I have lots of experience in helping my clients get cozy and feel grounded. Most of the images you see on my site are from real folks who also felt nervous before stepping in front of my lens. Coaching in finding comfort during a shoot is one of my photographer superpowers! We can take as much time as you need before the shutter button is pressed.
